“ When we walked into the business we were hit with a really strong odor that lasted the whole time. Unsure where it originated from. Service was lackluster. We had to chase servers down for utensils, etc. Food portions were smaller than expected but delicious. Might choose to do takeout or order for delivery next time. ”
“ We've been coming to Jaya for over three years now and it is still our favorite place to eat out. Last night we celebrated a birthday and our son being home for Christmas from the Navy. This was his first time.. We ordered beef rendang, chicken teriyaki, Nasi Lemak which is a chicken and coconut rice dish that is mild in flavor, watercress vegetables, roti with a curry dipping sauce, and black rice pudding to take home. They were really busy for a Monday night, which kind of shocked us. There is a long wait for your food because it is a family run business and the father does the cooking with help from the son who is absolutely one of our favorite people. You're waiting a while for your food because he's making it all fresh from scratch. You won't find anything stale m, old or cold that's not supposed to be. The quality of the food has not changed just the wait times. But it really is worth the wait. For me the roti, and the beef rendang are my favorites. But the black rice pudding is my all-time favorite. I know it sounds scary, but it is so delicious with sweet black rice topped with a salty sweet creamy coconut sauce. It's a delightful flavor contrast you're not expecting. Come with your appetite and your patience and you won't be disappointed if you know what true Indonesian food tastes like. ”
“ This place is phenomenal - for Indonesians, or those that love Indonesian food. I've been here not as much as I would like to - due to distance - but when I do it never disappoints and makes me want to come back. My favorite dish is the humble nasi lemak and the black sticky rice. Try it and let me know. ”
“ From the service to the signature tastes of the food, Jaya sits upon first place as my most recommended Thai/Southeast Asian grill in Colorado, and the states. After living all over the country, I've never tasted such love cooked into such authentic dishes. My favorite dishes are held by their Char Kway Teow, Bebek Pangang, and their KangKung. The noodles are a hidden gem and i always get it combination. You can taste every hint of flavor cooked into it, absolutely exceptional. My favorite food ever, bebek pangang, holds the #1 spot. Fried to perfection, beside the most beautifully, complementary sambal sauce. And I always order KangKung with it. Aside from the delicious food, the family who owns it are the most hardworking, efficient people ever. I've seen their two kids grow up, going to college while taking care of the restaurant. Never had to wait more than 15 minutes for the fresh, amazing smelling food. I've been going here, everytime I visit home, for the last 12 years. Absolutely stellar. ”
“ This restaurant may have to be our secret go to! Living about 5 min away, I pass Jaya every day and after a year and a half, my boyfriend and I finally went. Penang curry is my favorite dish, and it did not disappoint here! It was unique with a lot of veggies and overall delicious. We also had the Mongolian beef that was tasty and tangy. The wings were also delicious with the perfect crisp and sauce to it. In addition to the great food, our server was so kind and honest. He made sure to stop to talk to us and be personable. Overall, it's a hidden gem that we enjoyed and plan to go back to soon! ”
“ My friends and I had such a good experience here. There was no wait on a Friday night and service was extremely prompt and friendly. One of the owners waited on our table and was so knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Malaysian and Singaporean food. I had the lo mein and it was like no other lo mein I've ever had. It was clearly made to order and full of vegetables as well as an amazing, ever so slightly spicy sauce (they can do spice on a scale from 1 to 10). We were absolutely blown away by Jaya. ”
“ I've been here a few times now. This time around we got to try more things and overall I was happy with the quality of the food. As a Malaysian I'm always looking for a decent Malaysian place. Of all the things I got here were the standout dishes: Beef Rendang (this was recommended as well when we asked). It's tender and cooked well and the flavors are there. The spice level is good and I appreciated the level of attention to make sure it's authentic in flavor and spice as well. Some places try to bring the spice level down to make it more palatable but this one felt right. Kangkung. This is a very common vegetable in Malaysia it's also called water spinach. Char Kuey Teow. I love this dish in general and it's really hard to get it right but this felt like a decent attempt. For me, decent is good enough and is what it's supposed to be. Given the lack of options for Malaysian food around me, I cannot afford to be picky so this hits the spot! Basil fried rice. A Thai dish but nonetheless very good. It had good flavor. The crispy vegetable egg rolls were pretty standard. We got some Vietnamese spring rolls too which were fine. The roti canai is alright. I've had better ones, the curry that comes with it is quite mild. The chicken satay is also just okay. I think the marinade is not bad but could be more robust in flavor. The peanut sauce tastes fine but I found the texture too gummy and paste like. The most disappointing dish to me was actually the Nasi Lemak. The rice didn't have too much coconut flavor and it was also a bit sticky so I didn't enjoy the consistency. The fried chicken that came with it is a nice addition but it also lacks in flavor. I was expecting Malaysian sambal but they used Sambal Terasi which is more Indonesian. Just a personal preference but I wanted authentic and for me without that Sambal, it's not really nasi lemak. Overall I enjoyed it despite some dishes that missed the mark. Will be back again to try more things!! The service is also good and servers are friendly. ”
“ Hidden gem! Really good fried eggplant, chicken satay and canai roti- their Singapore curry noodles were also bomb. We also got some egg rolls and hiyanese chicken and that was pretty good too. Service was excellent and our server was the sweetest and so prompt. I highly recommend this place for a meal. I wish I lived close by and I would do take outs from this place all the time. ”
“ This is speaking only to Jaya's delivery service - I haven't been inside the physical restaurant. I vaguely recalled getting delivery from here in the past and not being very impressed, but I gave this spot another try after reading Yelp reviews that the restaurant had improved, and I'm glad I did! They really have stepped up their game. Delivery was fast. The General Tao's chicken was sweet, slightly sour, with a nice bit of kick. It was my favorite dish of the night and paired well with the beehoon goreng (which wasn't super flavorful, but it's not supposed to be) and the garlicky gailan. The food was exactly what I'd hoped it'd be, and I'm hoping to try more of the many options they have on their menu. ”
“ We all know that it is a challenge to find good Asian food in Denver but this place does it RIGHT!!! My friends and I have been looking all over Denver for decent Asian food and after we found this place it's been a regular outing for us. There hasn't been anything on the menu that we haven't tried that hasn't been amazing. The Char Kway Teow is obviously on the top of the list, but the other items are also very good. I would like to add that the fried eggplant is a MUST for appetizers shared appetizer. The flavor profile on that dish is CRAZY. Not to mention, friendly staff and plenty of parking! Also a plus is that this place is right next to Ding Tea so you can satisfy your boba craving after lunch/dinner! ”
